Martyrs' Day is commemorated on January 30 to mark the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

This day aims to pay tribute to the Brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom. This day is also celebrated to honor the sacrifices of the Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the fight for their country's independence.

Students of classes I to V performed songs, lines, poems, thoughts and devoted to our soldiers.

Soil water, vital for nutrient absorption by plants, binds the ecosystems together, and this symbiotic relationship is the foundation of our agricultural systems.

A special assembly on the topic "World soil day" was organized to spread the awareness of how the survival of our planet depends on the link between soil and water, and over 95% of our food originates from these two fundamental resources.

The International Day of Disabled Persons aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development. The theme for 2023 is "United in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs for, with and by persons with disabilities." and a Special Assembly was held on International Day of Persons Disabilities by the students of class VI to VIII on 1st December 23.

National Milk Day

On November 26 every year, India celebrates National Milk Day to commemorate the efforts of Dr Verghese Kurien, the brain behind the White Revolution. Dr Kurien played an instrumental role in the development of the dairy industry. His efforts also made India self-sufficient as far as its dairy needs were concerned. Students of classes I to V spoke lines about the importance of this day and spread awareness.

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab, is the most important festival for the followers of the religion of Sikhism. It is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Students with whole soul prayed and presented thoughts and speeches and dedicated to Gurunanak Dev Ji.

Dussehra Celebration (Special assembly)

A special assembly was conducted for our tiny tots on 20.10.23 for Dussehra celebration in the school premises with great enthusiasm. They took turns to play-act a portion of the great epic, the Ramayana, and told the children why and how Dussehra is celebrated. The occasion was a learning experience for all and enriched the young ones about our heritage and culture.

An Investiture Ceremony was organized by Himalaya International School in its premises in which students of class 8th were assigned some prime responsibilities to shoulder. All the four houses selected their Captains and Vice-Captains who will be responsible for all kinds of Activities and Competitions for their respective individual houses. All the Committee Heads selected their respective student representatives to be assigned particular jobs on regular basis. Monitors of every class have got responsibility, they should take care of the class. The Head boy, Aniket and the Head girl, Tanisha, both hailing from class 8th A were chosen with common consensus with principal, teachers and students. All the prefects were feeling high and took pledge to perform their respective duties with utmost sincerity.

To mark this day Nursery and Kg students celebrated friendship day. Students talked about importance of friends in life. They discussed the value of "sharing is caring". 'WORLD RED CROSS DAY' A special assembly was organised for students of Nursery and KG Class. They showcase their talent through Slogans with posters and showed A FIRST AID KIT and contributed various medical things like band-aid, cotton, dettol, ointment etc. with a motive to serve others in need. Through this activity children were given a message that by taking action through effective first aid, we can save countless lives n it's an act of humanism.

Educational trips provide students with a chance to think creatively and critically about the things they see and experience. With this thought in mind Himalaya International School organised an Educational Visit to Iskcon Temple on 12th May 2023 for the students of Class Nursery and KG.

Purple Colour Day

"Colours always fascinate all of us. It enlivens our environment and is an integral part of our lives".
Purple Colour Day was celebrated to make our kids aware of how colours add beauty to things around them. Purple colour represents the future, the imagination, dreams, and spirituality, and it helps calm the emotions. Some tiny tots dressed beautifully in purple, brought purple-coloured objects like toys, balloons, vegetables, bag, hanky etc. with them. Colour mixing activity, doing purple colour class activities helped children explore their creativity. The blooming buds of Himalaya International School also learnt about secondary colour.
