Special Assembly

Earth Day :-

Earth Day was celebrated on 20th April'18 in Special Assembly by Class VI-A.
Students sang a song on Mother Earth and NukadNatak was staged on the topic 'Save Earth'.
After celebration, all took pledge to care for mother earth not only for one day but every day.

INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY 2018 :-

INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY 2018
A Special Assembly was held on International Labour Day on 1st May, 2018 and was conducted by Class VIII-B. Students prepared a skit based on International Labour Day on the theme ‘Respect your helpers. All should be treated equally.’ They also prepared a song. Garv recited a poem for the helpers present in the school. Grade IV Staff was honored by a token of love.

Mother's Day :-

MOTHER"S DAY was celebrated in the school on 11th May. The students staged a skit to show their respect and love for their mother. Some of the students sang a song for mothers. Students had recited poems in English and Hindi for their mother. Prizes were also awarded to the winners of Inter House Competitions.

Investiture Ceremony :-

Himalaya International School, Rohini organized an Investiture Ceremony for the Academic Session 2018-19 wherein Head boy and Head girl of the school, House captains and vice-captains and other incharges were honoured and conferred badges by the Principal. The Ceremony was initiated with morning prayer followed by speech by the Headmistress of the institution, Ms. Priti Aggarwal.

Sapling Plantation Drive :-

To help make the surroundings green, HIS organized a Plantation drive. In accordance with the spirit of the day, the students had brought saplings of different plants to be planted in the school and also made slogans, banners and handbags.

International Tiger Day :-

International Tiger Day
Tiger, being the National animal of India, looks splendid in its majestic aura. Tiger is one of the major component of our environment as it maintains ecological balance for us. So, we should provide a safe environment to tiger away from poachers. Students delivered poems and speeches on this topic.

World Hiroshima Day :-

Hiroshima Day 
The students of Class VI B organized a special assembly on the topic "World Hiroshima Day" on 7th August, 2018. The students participated in it with great zeal and enthusiasm. The assembly began with "thought for the day" in both English and Hindi Language. Students recited poems based on Anti-Nuclear War. A talk show was also presented by the students through which a good message on peace and non-violence was sent across. The programme was 
concluded by a group song along with a valuable speech by the Principal of the school.

Janmashtami :-

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Class VI A, on the occasion of Janmashtami, a festival which commemorates the earthly arrival of Lord Krishna. 
The assembly began with the recitation of some popular shlokas from the Bhagwad Gita by Devaansh in Hindi. This was followed by the dance of girls of class VI and VIII. The students were told about how the festival is celebrated with pomp and gaiety all over India.

Navy Day :-

Himalaya international School conducted a special assembly on Indian Navy Day on 4th December. The students of class 6th performed poem ,dances and speech on this occasion. The assembly ended up with a speech by the Principal Ma'am  highlighting the reason and importance of  Indian Navy Day.

Christmas Celebration :-

Christmas is the spirit of peace, joy, love and happiness. Soaking in the spirits of Christmas, the students of the HIS celebrated the festival on 24th December 2018 with gaiety. Students from I to VIII class participated. At the end, the principal of the school, Ms. Priti Agarwal, announced the winner class. Class I A won the first position, Class III B won the second position whereas the third position was shared by Class V B and VII B, Principal Mam wished the children Merry Christmas and a very happy new year.

Republic Day :-

Republic Day
A special assembly was conducted by the students of Class I to VIII on 25th January to celebrate Republic Day.
The assembly began with a patriotic choir by students of class III B. Atishay of Class V A spoke on the qualities required to become an ideal citizen. Class I A, VI A and VIII B presented dance on patriotic songs. 
At the end, Principal Mam addressed the students and told them about importance of the constitution of India and why this day was named as Republic Day. The assembly was concluded with National Anthem sung together by students and teachers.

National Army Day :-

Himalaya international School conducted a special assembly on National Army Day on 15th January 2019. The students of class 8th B performed poem, thought and speech on this occasion. The assembly ended up with a speech by the Principal Ma'am highlighting the reason and importance of National Army Day. National Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens.

National Martyr's Day :-

National Martyr's Day
Special assembly on National Martyr's day was conducted on 30th January, 2019. Students of Class VII and VIII had performed very well. Jiya of Class VIII performed a speech on National Martyr's Day. Garima and Kritika of Class VII had talked about Gandhiji's life. Garv of Class VIII recited poem (Hindi) on Gandhiji. Samiksha of Class VII also recited poem (English) on Gandhiji's struggle. 
The assembly was concluded by Principal Madam's speech.

RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF CHILDREN :-

RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF CHILDREN
A Special Assembly was held on Rights and duties of children followed by Anti Bullying on 4th May, 2019 and was conducted by Class VII-A. Students prepared a skit and song based on the theme "Anti Bullying" .  Rishita recited a poem . Kinshuk took pledge on anti bullying along with other students. Children explained four types of bullying with examples. At last, assembly ended with our Anti Bullying In charge mam i.e Ms. Sharbanee's speech in which she explained what to do when child is bullied.

Investiture Ceremony :-

Himalaya International School believes in nurturing students to be future leaders. The school held investiture ceremony on 23 July, 2019 to bestow the deserving 
students with the responsibility of leading the school discipline and abiding by their duties. The students council compromised of head boy, head girl, captains and vice-captains. Principal Ma'am, Ms. Priti Agarwal, bestowed the badges to all newly elected students. The newly elected council members pledged to work earnestly and keep school motto on high esteem.

To show the struggle of Mahatma Gandhi in our independence, a special assembly was conducted on Gandhi Jayanti on 1.10.19.

International Girl Child :-

The day to celebrate the achievements of girls and the many milestones achieve by them. A special assembly on the topic - "International Girl Child Day" was conducted by students on 11.10.19 (i.e. Friday) by students of Class VI B. They expressed quotes, poem, group song on gender inequality and group dance on save girl child.

World Food Day :-

A special assembly on World Food Day was observed on 16th October 2019 in school premises. The  students of Class VIII A presented a variety of programmes on this occasion. Chavi presented a beautiful poem emphasising the importance of food in our life. Laksh and Khushboo presented two thought-provoking quotes for the same. A skit was also presented by the students of Class VIII A in which they made an appeal to all not to waste food depicting the theme, "STOP WASTAGE OF FOOD".
